Young Island

This vintage island setting seems a place that time has forgotten! Seventy-eight acres of forest, meadows, stone walls, apple trees surrounded by one mile of beautiful ocean frontage. Sand beaches, sheltered coves with deep anchorage and three permanent moorings and a large wharf which can accommodate several boats provide for all maritime needs. Enjoy boating or kayaking around Mahone Bay's islands, inlets and coves. Mainland at Indian Point is accessable by a 5 minutes boat ride where a private wharf with vehicle parking is available. The guest cottage has been fully restored from the original and remains true to style and character. Enjoy the panoramic views from the large sun porch settled within plenty of flowers like lilacs, wagelia and rose bushes in abundance. You might see dolphins, whales, eagles and deer just in front of you, right from the porch.
Extensive field and pathways take you to different places on the island. The stars at night – not disturbed by light polution - will leave ever lasting memories. The island was farmed with oxen until 1972. Old fields, apple orchards and stone walls evidence this special history today. You will need for nothing here as you escape the mundane. Power is by undersea cable and then underground to the houses. There is satellite internet and TV, so you can be as connected to 'regular' life as much or as little as you want to be.
Come - create your own memories on this beautiful island!
